The main objective of our three school districts (50, 51 and 52) is to develop productive lifelong learners while recognizing individual worth and cultural diversity by creating a positive school climate with innovative educational experiences, actively involving parents and community. Ongoing improvement in state-based and national scoring systems reinforces the fact that our educators are on the right track on behalf of our children.

We are fortunate to have five private schools which offer K–12 instruction as well. Cambridge Academy, Greenwood Christian School, Calvary Christian School, Eastside Baptist Christian School and Hopewood Academy share the Greenwood County School Districts’ objectives — with outstanding reputations based on academic excellence and the accomplishments of their students and alumni.

To qualify as a private school in South Carolina, each of these institutions has been approved by the State Board of Education or is a member school of the South Carolina Independent School Association or similar organization.
