The Foundation for a Greater Greenwood County, a 501c(3), invests and distributes charitable funds designated by the Partnership Alliance, with a priority focus on workforce development initiatives, an active strategy in collaboration with the Greenwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

The three goals of the workforce development initiative are:

  • attaining grade level by the end of 4th grade for all students;
  • increasing the high school graduation rate in Greenwood County; and
  • increasing the availability of job candidates with certifiable skills.

A total of $225,589 in grant funds has been awarded for these purposes since the Foundation was created in 1999.
